According to the US pet ownership statistics, around 45.5 % which means approx. 59.8 million of households in the United States own a dog and 32.1 %, 42.2 million own a cat as their pet. If we speak about the total number of pet owners including dogs, cats, and other animals such as fish, rabbits, etc. there are 86.9 million households, around 66% of US households.
